Amit Doshi is a serial entrepreneur who has started companies in the technology, and consumer internet space. Before his entrepreneurial start, he was an assistant director on a few Bollywood movies, and worked in advertising.

Since  2015 he’s now branched out to start IVM Podcasts that focuses on making podcasts… lots of podcasts. He wants IVM Podcasts to be the premier destination for spoken word content in India.

 

Anita Kapoor (Singapore)

International media personality, travel and lifestyle presenter, emcee and writer Anita Kapoor, shot to fame as the clear favourite winner of a Discovery travel host search and hasn’t looked back since. Bhrikuti Rai – Kathmandu-based, Columbia University alum Bhrikuti is an investigative reporter at The Kathmandu Post and loves all things audio.  She has spent eight years working for Nepali and international media, and has a diverse portfolio ranging from narrative podcasts, investigative stories, and documentaries.

Boju Bajai translates as “grandmas” — the kind of unfiltered advice you’d get from one about growing up as a young woman in Nepal. Slut shaming, body image, sexual assault and other “taboo” issues are all fair game on Boju Bajai. Boju Bajai creators Bhrikuti and Itisha will talk about how they started the show and where they are taking it.

Danny Koordi (Singapore)

Danny is an independent podcast producer who started his own show, the Economical Rice Podcast, back in 2017. Since then, he has gone on to launch a different series, the Podcast Spotlight, as well as created the local community Podcast SG for Singaporean producers. Moving forward he is focusing on a specialized producer role, and is currently helping several entities produce their own podcasts.

Gene Wuu is COO of Castbox, a leading mobile podcast app, with a footprint over 175 countries, 27M users, and 3M DAUs. Castbox, as reported by Sensor Tower, has been the most downloadable podcast app for 3 consecutive quarters. Gene is overseeing the global BD and operations of Castbox.

Gene Wuu was CEO of Yuantel Communications 2014-2018, and SVP of Borqs (NASDAQ listed) has built the Yuantel MVNO brand, and sold more 10 million SIM cards with 4 million of active subscribers in 3 years. Before joining Borqs, he had served as SVP and Chief Technology Officer at UTStarcom, and GM and VP of Core Network Business Group from 2003 to 2008. Previously,
Dr. Wuu had worked for Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore, now Ericson) for 17 years with 10 years as an R&D Director.

Gene Wuu earned his Ph D. in Computer Science from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has published many papers in distributed processing and database query optimization.

Yang Yang (Hong Kong)

Yang is a podcast producer at the South China Morning Post. She’s the producer of two podcast shows: Eat Drink Asia and Inside China Tech. Before joining the Post in 2019, Yang was a TV producer and editor for 2M Media Group in Washington, where she produced mini-documentaries and studio interviews. She’s graduated from Tongji University in Shanghai and Georgetown University in D.C.

Zen Soo (Hong Kong)

Zen Soo is a senior technology reporter at the South China Morning Post, covering the China and Southeast Asia technology landscape since 2015. Since November 2018, she has been the host of SCMP’s Inside China Tech podcast, where she speaks to a range of Chinese entrepreneurs and tech experts to bring listeners insights that matter. Currently based in Hong Kong, Zen has lived and worked in Singapore, China and Germany. She is a graduate of the National University in Singapore, as well as Tsinghua University, where she obtained a master’s degree in business journalism.
